Why Intern at CPC?

Hi everybody! My name is Gianna Palermo and I am entering my final year as a psychology major at the State College of Farmingdale New York. I plan on pursuing a career as a child life specialist in a pediatric cancer hospital. I have worked at a sleepaway camp for children with cancer and their siblings for the last three summers. In my free time I enjoy crocheting and listening to Taylor Swift. I am looking forward to being a part of the Connected Pathways Coaches team this semester!

Hello everyone! My name is Makenzie and I will be a senior at Farmingdale State college this upcoming semester. My major is applied psychology! I am glad to say that I have narrowed down the paths I would like to take in life to becoming a guidance counselor or education advisor. Truthfully, I would love to help ease students' worries and guide them in making the decisions that they desire. Growing up, I had a guidance counselor that inspired me to look past my concerns and find what I wanted at heart. I am excited to be a part of the team and help the coaches in our connected pathways program this fall semester! I look forward to getting to know you all!

I am a current Senior at Appalachian State University, completing my Bachelors degree in Psychology. I have worked with kids for over 7 years as a camp counselor, nanny, and lifeguard. I also have 3 plus years of experience with special needs children. As someone who has ADHD themselves, I am very passionate and excited to intern at CPC, as well as share tips and tricks I've learned along the way! I hope to guide each individual to be the best they can be and feel more academic confidence.

I’m an Applied Psychology student at Farmingdale State College, passionate about understanding and supporting persons with mental health and developmental needs. My experience at Brookville Center for Children’s Services has helped me build strong skills in communication, teamwork, and personalized care. My name is Olivia Marshall, and I am a senior at Appalachian State University, where I am studying Health Studies in Psychology. My ultimate goal is to work in the health field or as a sports psychologist, as I find it fulfilling to know I’m making a difference in someone’s life or contributing positively to the world. I love sports and have played softball at the college level. In my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities like snowboarding, hiking, and spending time with my family.

My name is Kate and I am a junior at the University of Maryland studying both psychology and human development. I grew up in New Jersey and love to go to the beach, explore different cities and countries, and I am on a dance team in college as well. I have many different pastimes, but am excited to dedicate more time learning about executive functioning and coaching this fall.

Hello! I'm a psychology student with a theater minor at Appalachian State University. I chose this path because I love helping people work through their issues, and also love embracing bold self expression. In my free time I enjoy exploring the outdoors here in the mountains, making jewelry and cooking fun new recipes. This internship excites me because I personally understand what it's like to try and keep up with neurotypical people while working through ADHD, especially when it comes to organizing my school work. I can't wait to help kids like me and facilitate that process of growth and learning.

Hello! My name is Sophia, and I’m a student at Appalachian State University studying Psychology and Business. I’m passionate about supporting youth, my love for helping others began through family-focused volunteer events when I was younger.

In my free time, I enjoy doing art projects and spending time outdoors. I’m excited to intern here because I understand how valuable strong executive functioning skills can be. I look forward to learning more and helping others build those skills too. I’m so excited to be part of this amazing team and contribute to meaningful work!
